30th Annual Y.E.S. Golf Tournament & After Party
The Youth Education Scholarship Fund (Y.E.S.) Golf Tournament, organized by the Young Professionals Network and the Steamboat Springs Chamber, will take place at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club. Funds raised from the tournament are awarded in two categories, consisting of Routt County high school graduating seniors and past recipients of the scholarship still enrolled. The cost is $135 per person and includes golf cart plus cocktails and appetizers for players after the tournament. Registration is at 10 a.m. and tee off is at 11:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams with additional prizes for the longest drive, longest putt and drive closest to the center line, just to name a few. There will be two Hole-In-One prizes, a car donated by Cook Chevrolet and a $15,000 cash prize donated by Yampa Valley Bank.

3rd Law Dance/Theater: Lost in Place
As issues of migration, ethnicity, culture and spirituality consume our world “Lost in Place,” feels especially timely. Humans cultivate a deep feeling of belonging and personal narrative by identifying and memorializing the places they arrive from, return to, and draw memories from. But if we have no tangible item to attach to a memory, how do we not forget? What memories do we take with us and what do we leave behind? Filled with quirky interludes featuring shoes, suitcases, trunks, typewriters, birdcages, and juggling balls, this theatrical evening takes the audience on a rich and thought-provoking journey.

4 Week Intermediate Wheel Class: Making Teapots and Jars
Instructor: Neely Hatchel July 18th -August 8th, 2018 on Wednesdays 6-9pm for 4 weeks. Cost: $310, includes instructor fee, open studio use 7/18-8/8, instructor fee, 25 lbs of clay, glazes and firings during class session. Additional clay/glaze/firing package available for $75 per bag. Looking for a new challenge on the wheel? Teapots are the pinnacle of pottery projects! They involve controlled and technical throwing techniques; Create lids, spouts and handles all on the same piece! The first week, Neely will guide students through the process of throwing jars and creating different types of lids. The next two weeks, students will focus on the the more advanced project of creating teapot parts and assembling them. The last class will be reserved for glazing. Participants will have the option to fire in cone 6 oxidation or cone 10 reduction. We will also have a potluck kiln-opening party at the end of the session - friends and family welcome! 6 Week Thursday Evening Intermediate Wheel Class: Altering Forms
Students will learn new ways to alter their round wheel-thrown forms into new and exciting shapes. We will push, pull, dart, poke and paddle pieces into unique forms ranging from square to completely organic and flower-like. We will also incorporate carving, stamping and sprigs into our altered pieces. Students will develop their own style and library of forms. Prerequisite: at least one multi-week all-levels wheel-throwing class. Advanced registration required at by June 6th.

8th Annual Steamboat Stinger Mountain Bike and Running Races
The Steamboat Stinger, now a Colorado classic, aims to provide a challenging backcountry race experience showcasing some of Steamboat Springs’ finest singletrack. The Steamboat Stinger is also a fundraiser for Partners in Routt County (local youth mentoring group) and Routt County Riders (local IMBA chapter). In addition to the Saturday mountain bike race, we feature a full and half trail marathon on Sunday. These two events can be separate or, if you wish to take the ultimate challenge, you can participate in both – the 50 mile solo mountain bike race as well as the 26.2 trail marathon the following day. The male and female winners with the lowest combined bike and run times shall be crowned King Sting and Queen Bee. NEW THIS YEAR! Not ready to take on the full Queen Bee or King Sting? Go halvsies with the Bumble Bee! Take your duo lap time and combine it with your half marathon time for a chance to win.

Healthier Colorado is partnering with Northwest Colorado Health, Mind Springs Health, Mental Health Colorado, and Northwest Colorado Community Health Partnership to host a panel discussion on the opioid crisis. Panel members include public officials who are able to create and implement public policies to address addiction and access to treatment.
