2018 Piknik Theatre Festival
Free outdoor performances at various locations, 6-730pm, Wednesdays through Sundays, from July 27 - August 12, 2018. Bring your own seating and a picnic basket for these family oriented performances. Two productions in repertory including Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and a new premiere of The Bee Man of Orn, an original work based on fairy tales you've never known.

3 Doors Down
Hailing from Escatawpa, Miss., 3 Doors Down burst onto the scene in 1996 with its debut album, "The Better Life," which included the hit song "Kryptonite." The only remaining member of the original trio is lead singer Brad Arnold; he's joined by Chris Henderson, Chet Roberts, Justin Biltonen and Greg Upchurch (formerly of Puddle of Mudd). The new configuration released an album of new songs in 2016, "Us and the Night," the band's first in five years.

4 Week Intermediate Wheel Class: Making Teapots and Jars
Instructor: Neely Hatchel July 18th -August 8th, 2018 on Wednesdays 6-9pm for 4 weeks. Cost: $310, includes instructor fee, open studio use 7/18-8/8, instructor fee, 25 lbs of clay, glazes and firings during class session. Additional clay/glaze/firing package available for $75 per bag. Looking for a new challenge on the wheel? Teapots are the pinnacle of pottery projects! They involve controlled and technical throwing techniques; Create lids, spouts and handles all on the same piece! The first week, Neely will guide students through the process of throwing jars and creating different types of lids. The next two weeks, students will focus on the the more advanced project of creating teapot parts and assembling them. The last class will be reserved for glazing. Participants will have the option to fire in cone 6 oxidation or cone 10 reduction. We will also have a potluck kiln-opening party at the end of the session - friends and family welcome! 5 Seconds of Summer
Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer rose to fame when their cover of Chris Brown and Justin Bieber's "Next to You" received over 600,000 hits on YouTube. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2014, hit the top of the Billboard albums chart and launched the hit singles, "She Looks So Perfect" and "Amnesia." They released their third album, "Youngblood," in 2018.

5 Week Thursday Afternoon Hand-Building: Clay Slab Cups, Vessels and Bowls
We will begin by creating stamps and sprigs for use on slab-built forms. Simple plaster forms will be used to create bowls and trays, textured with our own hand-made stamps. We will also build cylindrical forms and alter them using darting techniques, creating fun, organic shapes for functional or non-functional vessels. Some surface decoration techniques will be taught depending on student interest. Participants will have the option to fire in cone 6 oxidation or cone 10 reduction. We will also have a potluck kiln-opening party at the end of the session - friends and family welcome!
